Russell was a dedicated employee and worked 7 days a week only missing 2 days during his tenure. Russell came from a very humbled upbringing and background. It should be known that Russell lived a selfless life. Russell loved his family, his 4-legged friend, "Flash", watching Nascar, Roller Derby, Georgia football, enjoying a cold PBR, and classic western shows. Russell's last 6 years were spent at the Georgia War Veterans Nursing Home commonly known as, "The Blue Goose". Russell quickly became a resident favorite among the staff. Russell coined special friends from the Blue Goose as his "Angels" which took loving care of him. The caring nature of his "Angels" quickly resulted in them becoming his family. Ms. Mary, Ms. "Meka", Ms. Hannah, Ms. Sharon, Ms. Shelia, "Baby Love", and many more. It is fair to say that Russell loved them dearly. A celebration of life is scheduled for Sunday October 8", 2023, at the American Legion (Post 178), 3219 Richmond Hill Road, Augusta GA 30906, where we do not say, "Goodbye" we will say, "Later up the road" and give a THUMBS UP.
