IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ronald Wayne
Bartlett Ii
July 18, 1964 – February 2, 2025
Ronald Wayne Bartlett II passed away unexpectedly on February 2, 2025, in Grovetown, GA. Ron was born on July 18, 1964, in Okinawa, Japan to Ronald and Carolyn Bartlett.
Ron grew up a child of a military father, moving to various places and experiencing the world during his young life. As an adult, Ron joined the United States Army and served as a Military Police K9 Officer. Once stationed in Korea, he met the love of his life, Nan. They were married and she followed him for the rest of his career in the Army. Knowing he could count on Nan as his anchor for their lives, Ron then transitioned to civilian life back in Georgia where they grew their family. When Ron got out of the Army, he started working as a Deputy with the Columbia County Sheriff's Office. To hear many tell the stories of him as a Deputy, he was one of the best. Always willing to teach, encourage, and train people who were new to the profession, to show them how to serve with compassion and to uphold the law. Ron served with many departments over the course of his career, making an impact wherever he went.
Above his service to his country and his community, Ron's most outstanding accomplishments were his three children, Joshua, Daniel, and Amber. He did his best to provide for them and make sure they were taken care of. Ron loved his children more than anything and made sure he talked about them and their successes to anyone who would listen.
He had many friends, evident by the phone calls and stories that were told after his passing. Everyone had a good story and laugh to tell about a time they spent together.
Ron is survived by his Wife of 39 years, Nan; his children, Joshua (Alicia), Daniel (Brittany), and Amber (Richard); his grandchildren, Sophia and Lucas; as well as many extended family members. He will be as greatly missed as he was loved.
A memorial service with military honors will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, February 8, 2025, in the chapel at Thomas L. King Funeral Home, 124 Davis Road, Martinez GA 30907. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to service time.
