Robert "Bobby" Marshall Gay, Jr., 85, went to his heavenly home on Monday, July 3, 2023.

Born in Augusta, Georgia, Bobby was the son of the late Robert Marshall Gay, Sr. and the late Mattie Mae Gay. He served eight years in the U.S. Naval Reserve. Early on he worked at Proctor and Gamble, then became the president of Gay Fire Equipment Company, specializing in selling fire trucks. In addition, Bobby volunteered for many years with the Martinez Fire Department. Bobby was a born again Christian, attending Bethany Chapel early on.

In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his son, Robert "Robbie" Gay III. He is survived by his daughter, Meri Beth Walker (Michael); stepson, Louis Daugherty; stepdaughter, Kim Merritt; his grandkids, Riley and Grayson Walker, Kimberly Tebo, Rachel Gay Eichel, and Austin Gay; his brother, Eddie Gay; and his precious fur-baby, "Sweetie".

A memorial service will be held at 3:00pm on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, in the chapel at Thomas L. King Funeral Home, 124 Davis Road, Martinez, GA 30907, with Chaplain Richard Thigpen Sr. officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to service time.
