Robert "Destry" Kitchens 59, of Hephzibah, Ga. entered into rest on Palm Sunday, April 13th at AU hospital at 8:03pm surrounded by his loving family.

"Destry" was named after the Western Cowboy show "Destry Rides Again" a program he enjoyed with his father, and he lived up to his name with his larger than life personality. Whether it be saddling horses for family gatherings or cooking up a feast to watch his Georgia Bulldogs on game day. He lived a full life but it surely doesn't compare to being with his Lord and Savior walking the streets of gold.

Palm Sunday holds a special meaning to our family due to representing the beginning of Holy Week and Jesus's triumphant entrance into Jerusalem. The people waving palms hoping for a revolution, and they get one, but not the one they expected. Not with force but humility. Not on a warhorse but on a donkey. Jesus doesnt take power but he lays it down. He doesnt crush enemies, but carries a cross. This is our reminder that Gods way is not always what we expect but he is the Almighty King. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, for whosoever believith in him shall not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16

Destry is proceeded in death by his Father Bobby Kitchens and his brother Dwain Scott Kitchens.

He sadly Leaves behind his Mother Judith Evelyn Peace Kitchens. His Daughter Dayna Kitchens Sanders and 2 grandsons Kamden Brock Sanders and Harlan Bentley Sanders. His sister Evelyn Lynn English and brother in law Anthony English, their daughter and son in law Stefanie and Jason Singletary and their 2 grandchildren Leland Thomas McCook and Sadie Mae Singletary. His sister Julie Marie Adams and her 4 children. Dustin Heath Adams and wife Brittany Adams. Shawn Seith Adams, and daughters Kaylee Bree and Hannah Marie Adams. His half brother Joshua Dean Kitchens and his daughter Reagan Lynn Kitchens.
