Robert Davidson, a beloved father, grandfather, and cherished friend, passed away on January 22, 2026, at the age of 85. Born on October 29, 1940, Robert lived a life dedicated to his family and his work in the flower business, where he spent over 50 years, including over 30 years working side by side with his son.
A simple man at heart, Robert was not only a successful businessman but also served honorably in the US Army. His commitment to service extended beyond his military duties; it was evident in the way he interacted with others, always offering kindness and friendship to those around him.
Robert had a passion for the outdoors, finding joy in fishing and hosting cookouts where laughter and camaraderie filled the air. He was particularly fond of spending quality time with his grandbabies—Tiffany Finnell, Bailey Owens, and Tannah Davidson—whom he adored deeply. His grandchildren were a source of tremendous pride and joy, and he cherished every moment he spent with them.
In his passing, Robert leaves behind his loving children, Robert Davidson and Sharon Hammett (Don),his beloved grandchildren and his great grandson Mason Owens, and many beloved friends and extended family members. Though he is preceded in death by his parents, William and Julia Davidson, and his wife, Shirley Davidson, Robert's legacy continues through the love he shared with his family and friends.
The family would like to extend their sincere thank you to Crescent Hospice as well as Trell and Alanda for their wonderful care.
A visitation will be held on January 28, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 3:00 PM in the Thomas L. King Funeral Home Chapel with Heyward Horton officiating. Robert's memory will live on fondly in the hearts of all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers the family kindly requests donations to the American Cancer Society.
