IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert "Bob"
C. Rayner
December 25, 1928 – November 10, 2025
Robert Clarence Rayner (Bro. Bob), of Lincolnton, Georgia was 96 years of age when he passed away on November 10th. He was born to Charles and Gertrude Rayner of Meridian, Mississippi on Tuesday, December 25, 1928. He was a member of the United States Air force for 23 years, where he served during the Berlin Airlift, Korean War, and the Vietnam War retiring as a SMSgt from HQ Strategic Air Command, Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska in 1970. He was also a Colonel on the staff of the Governor of Mississippi and served as Aide de Camp on the Governor's staff.
His greatest desire was to lead as many people as he could to Christ. He began preaching when he was 16. He obtained his Doctorate Degree in Ministry when he was 80. He was Pastor Emeritus for two churches: (Phillips Mill Baptist Church, Washington, Ga., and Salem Baptist Church, Lincolnton, Ga.) He also served the Lord as pastor of 12 other Baptist churches. Of those 12 churches he served as Pastor at Abilene Baptist Church (Martinez, GA), and started West Acres Baptist and Parkway Baptist (Evans, GA). He served the Lord for 80 years in ministry.
Throughout his life, he was a loving Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, and a Great-great Grandfather. He is survived by his brother, Travis Rayner, and by his children, Robert Rayner (and wife Donna), Gordon Rayner (and wife Bonny), Stephen Rayner (and wife Celia), Bryan Rayner (and wife Leslie). He had 9 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
He always took the opportunity, no matter what he was doing or who he met, to tell the people "God Loves You and I Love You too." Although the Bible meant everything to him, he always had that one favorite word: (GLORY). He is finally with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and again, with his wife and sweetheart Nancy (Allen) Rayner of Seguin, TX, who passed to be with the Lord on January 17, 2016.
