Rickey Carithers, 81, of Evans, passed away on September 6, 2026.

Rick was a longtime resident of the Martinez-Evans area and retired after 37 years with NCR. He enjoyed watching his Georgia Bulldogs, The Atlanta Braves, and Golf especially the Masters Tournament. His greatest joy was his family spending time with his wife, children, and his precious grandbabies who adored him as much he adored them. Rick was well loved and he loved his Lord. He endured many hardships in life and he took those hardships with optimism and faith.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Nyda Carithers; his daughter, Lynn Calloway; and his sister, Dianne Hill.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy Carithers; his daughters, Laurie Ferguson (Travis), and Denise Irvin; his sister, Kay Parsons (Tommy); his grandchildren, Noah Ragland (Carrie), Presley Cannon (Bryan), and Reese Ferguson (Carolyn); his great granddaughter, Faith Leckie and baby Cannon on the way; as well as many nieces and nephews. 

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, September 10, 2026 at Eleven Sixteen Church, 1116 Furys Ferry Rd, Evans, GA 30809, with Pastor Jarrod Adkins officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the service at church.

Florist please deliver flowers to the church on Thursday after 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers the family kindly requests donations be made to Eleven Sixteen Church.
