Richard
Rawlins
Nov 29, 1961 — Sep 7, 2026
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Richard Daniel Rawlins, who was called home on Monday, September 7, 2026, at the age of 64.
Richard was born on November 29, 1961, in Lawrenceville, Ga, to William E. and the late Hazel (Parks) Rawlins.
The Rawlins moved to Martinez, Ga, in the late 1960’s, and Richard grew up in the middle of a large, loving family.
Despite the everyday excitement of having eight brothers, Richard was known as the quiet one, and he would not hesitate to give of his time, or to lend a hand, to anyone in need. He was a patient listener, always ready with a kind word, and he was comfortable being a part of any conversation. These honest traits remained a part of who he was throughout his life.
From childhood, into adulthood, and then into his later years, his favorite pastimes remained consistent: spending time with his family, working in the gardens and harvests, fixing up cars, and most especially, hunting and fishing.
Richard attended West Acres Baptist Church in Evans, Ga.
He joins his beloved brothers, Terry Edward Rawlins, and Stanley Matthew Rawlins, who preceded him in death.
His memory will be cherished by those survived: his loving daughter Rilynn Terry Rawlins; his steadfast brothers William David Rawlins (Cathy), Phillip Greg Rawlins (Dianne), Mark Henry Rawlins (Angelina), William Edward Rawlins, Jr (Angie), Grady Kenneth Rawlins, and Benjamin Wayne Rawlins (Dana); his sister-in-law Rena Rawlins; numerous nieces and nephews; and his faithful companion, Roxie the chihuahua.
Visitation will be on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM, both at West Acres Baptist Church, 555 Gibbs Rd, Evans, Ga. Pallbearers will be his surviving brothers, and honorary pallbearers will be his nephews, great nephews, and close friends Mike Wall and Jeff Buckner. He will be laid to rest at Bellevue Memorial Gardens in Grovetown immediately following the service. All are welcome to attend.
In lieu of flowers the family kindly requests donations be made to West Acres Baptist Church, 555 Gibbs Rd. Evans GA 30809.
