Reynolds Alan "Rey" Chacon, age 65, of San Pablo, California, passed away on May 6, 2024, at Piedmont Hospital in Augusta, Georgia. Born on December 11, 1958, Rey was a beloved life partner, brother, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Rey proudly served in the Army from 1977 to 1980 and was a Senior Lab Technician at Covia Corporation in Hephzibah, Georgia. He was known for his sense of humor, love for family, and dedication to his work.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, reading, fishing, cooking, swimming, and watching college football games. Rey cherished family vacations to the mountains and the beach and always looked forward to the annual Master's tournament.
Rey is survived by his life partner of over 30 years, Lynn Brantley; his siblings, Eric David, Natalia Chacon, Lee-Anne Martinez (Paul), and Shirley Rosario; his children, Tracy Dozier (Brian), Tommy Brantley, and Wendy Brantley; his grandchildren, Madison Dozier and Bryson Brantley; his great-grandsons, Easton, Campbell, Waylon, and Beckham; and a host of nieces and nephews that span from the East Coast to the West Coast. He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth "Betty" Nunez; his father, Ronaldo Chacon; his brother, Jeffery Chacon; and his nephew, Co-Rey Sims.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at Blythe Methodist Church, 317 Church St., Blythe, GA 30805. Please drop in from 1:00-3:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in memory of Rey Chacon to the American Cancer Society ( www.cancer.org ) or Blythe Methodist Church.
