Mr. R.C. Duffy, Jr., 94, entered into rest on Thursday, October 13, 2022, at his home in Martinez, GA.

R.C. was born in Augusta on September 24, 1928. Over the years he enjoyed hunting with his dogs, fishing, and yard work. He retired from the Enterprise Mill after 40 years. R.C. was a member of Faith Memorial Church.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Hazel Bowman Duffy; his parents, R.C. Sr. and Mary Stevens Duffy; his sisters, Dorothy Wheeler and Ruth Williams; and his brother, David Duffy.

He is survived by his wife, Maxine; daughter, Shyrl Hazel Young; grandson, Derrick Daniel Young; granddaughter, Sabrina Young; great-grandson, Jordan Daniel Young; and a number of nieces and nephews.

After the death of his first wife, he met and married Maxine Crowley. They were married for 32 years, until his passing. His family grew to include Maxine's grown children - Terry Crowley and Maurice Crowley (both deceased), and Susan Gulledge (Loyd); grandchildren, Adam Gulledge (Christy), Nick Gulledge (Melissa), Emily Bond, and Devin Andrew Gulledge; and great-grandchildren, Reagan Amber Gulledge and Lincoln Joseph Bond.

A Celebration of R.C.'s life will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday, October 17, 2022, in the Chapel at Thomas L. King Funeral Home, 124 Davis Road, Martinez, GA 30907. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to service time. Interment will immediately follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 2700 Deans Bridge Road, Augusta, GA 30906. Pastor Robert Lehn of Westside Baptist Church will officiate.
