MARTINEZ, Ga. - Mrs. Ponda Dickens Holt, 64, wife of Mr. James E. Holt, Sr., entered into rest at her home surrounded by her loved ones on Tuesday, March 1, 2016. Mrs. Holt was a member of First Christian Church, where she was an active member and a Deaconess of the church. She loved spending time with her family, cooking, and baking, and her love for dogs. Mrs. Holt was a special lady who was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. at the chapel of Thomas L. King Funeral Home on Friday, March 4, 2016, with Reverend Keith Weekley officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The interment service will be held at a later date. Mrs. Holt was preceded in death by her mother, Annie Newman Dickens and her father, Richard Jennings Dickens and three brothers, Charles Jennings Dickens, Richard Jennings Dickens, Donald Lamar Dickens, Sr. In addition to her husband, James E. Holt, Sr., family members are a son, James E. Holt, Jr., and his wife Beth, of Martinez; a daughter, Kathy H. Swearingen, and her husband Clay, of Graniteville, SC; a brother, Bruce Dickens, and his wife Rebecca, of Thomson, GA; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
