Peggy Ruth Mays, passed away on January 8th with her family by her side. She was married to her childhood sweetheart Tommy Mays whom she met in 3rd grade and later married after high school graduation in 1960. They were married for 58 years. She was a Master Cosmetologist but chose her family over career. She loved her soul mate, family unconditionally with the kindest heart and loved being known as Nana. Besides pampering her family, she had a passion for fishing, going to the lake, and visiting the beach. She was a member of First Baptist of Evans where she served on multiple committee and most enjoyed the hospitality committee. Survived by her two daughters Peggy Lynn Mays of Evans and Dana Ruth Samples (Bobby) of Grovetown, three grandchildren, Macey Johnson (Caleb), Madison Samples, Thomas Samples and one great-grandson Landon Johnson, a sister Susan Shelley (Rob) and brother Joey Heyward (Vicki). Preceded in death by her mother, Fannie Kate Rowland, her father, George Franklin Rowland and three brothers, John Overstreet, Mickey Heyward, and Bill Lewis. Family will be receiving guest on on Friday, January 11 at Kings Funeral Home from 6 to 8. Service at First Baptist Church of Evans, Saturday, January 12 at 1 pm procession following Bellevue Memorial Garden.
