Obituary

Peggy Moseley Chase, 81, of Stockbridge, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, in Evans, Georgia, where she had moved to be near her daughter and family. Peggy was born in Griffin, Georgia on January 11, 1943 to William Bryans Moseley and Mary Rebecca Bellah Moseley. After Peggy graduated from Henry County High School, she married Cromwell Dyer Chase, Jr. (Joe), a soldier from Connecticut serving at Fort Bragg. They welcomed the birth of their only daughter a year later.

Over the years, the family called both the North and the South home. They were blessed with 43 years of marriage, two beautiful granddaughters, many devoted family members, countless lifetime friendships, and rewarding careers and pastimes. Most important to her were the relationships that she built along the way. Peggy was the glue that held people together. Peggy wrote the letters, sent the cards, made the phone calls, planned the gatherings, posted the prayer lists, attended the reunions, and loved her people. She was a true lifetime friend who will, indeed, be missed by many.

Peggy was predeceased by her parents, William Bryans Moseley and Mary Rebecca Bellah Moseley, and her husband Cromwell Dyer Chase, Jr. (Joe). She is survived by her daughter, Karen Chase Lord (Charles Lord); her granddaughters, Elizabeth (Betsy) Picciano (Jarrad Young), and Katherine (Katie) Martin (Rodney Martin), and numerous beloved family members.

A ceremony celebrating her life will be held on Friday, August 16th at 4:00pm at the Stockbridge Presbyterian Church, 4740 North Henry Blvd., Stockbridge, Georgia 30281.
