Oneida Roman Garcia passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at Augusta University Hospital. She was born on November 5, 1952 in Arecibo, Puerto Rico where she spent her formative years. She graduated from Inter American University in San German, Puerto Rico with a B.A. in Psychology and Special Education. She moved to Augusta where she worked as a teacher, raised her son, and lived the remainder of her life. Oneida is survived by her son Jason Garcia and daughter-in-law Melissa Garcia, her sister Aileen Rodriguez, niece Nelianess Nais Rodriguez and many friends who loved her very much. Oneida is preceded in death by her parents Ramon Roman and Andrea Rodriguez Roman. Oneida, no matter what, always thought of others first. She was a loving, giving, caring mother and friend who will be missed by all whose lives she touched. A special thank you is given to all of her home care aides.
