Olin Dee Gibson, Martinez, Ga., 85, beloved husband to Myra Jean Gibson, entered into rest on Monday, August 2, 2021.

Born in Oconee County, S.C., on August 27, 1935, he was the son of the late James and Katie Gibson.

He served his country as a medic in the U.S. Navy and retired in 2000 from International Paper Co. as a filter plant operator. He had a passion for gardening, growing prize tomatoes and sweet potatoes which he shared with family and friends. He was an avid camper and spent many enjoyable times in the Smoky Mountains and beaches in S.C. He was a member of Hephzibah Baptist Church and the Mens Sunday School Class.

He was preceded in death by his children Tony Dee Gibson in 2017 and Sharon Renee Gibson on May 24, 2021. His wish was to be cremated and no service is planned at this time.
