Mrs. Ola Ann Screws, 86, of Grovetown passed away peacefully on April 21, 2026.
A gifted artist, Ola’s hands wove beauty through the delicate craft of crocheting. She lovingly crafted baby blankets and clothes, each stitch imbued with the tender care that characterized her entire being. She enjoyed gardening and tending to her greenhouse, her yard always looking beautiful with plants and flowers. Her home echoed with the joyful sounds of music and dancing, emblematic of a soul that celebrated life with a vibrant passion. Family gatherings, especially those at Easter and Christmas, were her cherished moments, where her loving presence blessed every occasion.
Ola was the embodiment of a loving and forgiving nature—an enduring pillar of strength as a beloved and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Even Pastor Chad affectionately called her "Grandma," a reflection of her nurturing spirit extending beyond her immediate family. She was a caretaker in the truest sense, always attentive to the needs of others, pouring her heart and soul into everything she undertook.
She leaves behind her beloved children: Elizabeth Walker and her husband Philip, Carrel Best and her husband Jerry, and Jerome Screws; along with eight grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Ola’s legacy also lives on through numerous cousins and other extended family members who were touched by her grace and generosity.
Ola was preceded in death by her cherished parents, Hubert and Carrel Gnann; her devoted husband, Ted H. Screws Sr.; and her sons, Jeff Screws and Teddy Screws Jr. Their memories rest forever intertwined with hers in the tapestry of love she so carefully created.
