AUGUSTA, Ga. - Michael Mike Patrick Cullinan Sr., 67, born February 19, 1948, of Augusta, GA, died April 27, 2015 at University Hospital. Preceded in death by his parents, Henry Mortimer and Imogene Hudson Cullinan and his son, Robert E. Cullinan. Loving father of Michael Patrick Cullinan Jr. (Sandra), Brian Joseph Cullinan (Heather), and Jennifer Ann O Byrne (William). He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Joseph Berryman Harrell V (April), Brittany Ellen Harrell, Michael Patrick "Chase" Cullinan III, Robert Morgan Cullinan, Madison Marie Cullinan, William Lawrence "Liam" O Byrne III, Aubrey Paige Cullinan, Ashtyn Grace Cullinan, and his beloved pet Blue Heeler, Summer. Mike was a Navy Veteran and worked as a Deputy Sheriff for the Richmond County Sheriff s Office for 9 years, the McDuffie County Sheriff's Office for 9 years; he retired from the Columbia County Sheriff s Office after 20 years, and finally served the Sardis Police Department for 13 months. He was the founding Chapter President of the Blue Knights GA IV law enforcement motorcycle club and a member of the John S. Davidson Masonic Lodge #677. He enjoyed his motorcycles, his pets and animals, woodworking, and deep-sea fishing. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 1, 2015 at Abilene Baptist Church at 11 a.m., with Dr. Brad Whit and Columbia County Sheriff s Office Chaplain Dennis Hoyt. Interment will be in Westover Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607 or to Augusta/CSRA Habitat for Humanity, 1002 Walton Way, Augusta, GA 30901. Honorary Pallbearers will be Butch Askew, Hudson Bell, Jim Griffin, Key Kernaghan, William McCall and Tommy Usry. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
