Entered into rest on Feb. 18, 2017 with his family at his side, Mr. Michael Frank (Poppy) Klozer, beloved husband of 49 years to Mrs. Nancy Harden Klozer of Martinez, Ga. He is the son of the late Emil and Janelle Klozer.
Mr. Klozer was a graduate of Academy of Richmond County. He also attended Brewton Parker and Augusta University. He worked for over 20 years at Thermal Ceramics in Human resources. When he left Thermal Ceramics he started his own small business. He had a strong work ethic that he bestowed into his children. Poppy as he was called was a Baptist and a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church. He loved motorcycles and riding with his son and spent many hours with his best friend Tim Peterson. He was a member of the Long Cane Enduro Club. He was a volunteer for the Dream House and the Ride for Kids. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, and friend, and he loved his dogs Bailie and Sprout.The family would like to thank Dr. Jeremy Wells and his staff at Augusta Oncology and Mrs. Pat for all their care and support through his fight with Cancer. The Cancer won the body but not his spirit.
He is survived by 1 son - Michael Jason Klozer (wife Alyssa), Dublin, Cal.; 1 daughter - Jennifer Leigh Blanchard (husband Grady), Evans, Ga.; 1 sister - Jeane Klozer Reese (husband Wayne), Martinez, Ga.; 3 grandchildren - Emerson, Jackson, Matthew; and the Harden brothers-in-law and their families, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A graveside service will be held Wed. Feb 22, 2017, 11:00 am at Westover Memorial Park with Revs.Robert and Kenneth Frederick officiating. The family and friends will assemble at the graveside. The family will receive friends tonight from 5pm-7pm at the funeral home.
