Michael Edward Arrowood, 75, entered into rest on Sunday, February 19, 2023.

Michael was born on December 24, 1947, in Portsmouth, Ohio. He graduated high school with honors and perfect attendance while getting awards for playing football. He joined the Army right after in 1967. He began as a Combat Telecommunications Center Operator and was stationed in Korea, twice in Germany, and lastly Fort Gordon where he was a Physical Activities Specialist. In 1988, he retired from the Army as a Staff Sergeant after 20 years of service. He then spent the next 20 years working for the Georgia Department of Corrections as a Security Guard and Counselor. He spent the years after working as a mechanic and building carburetors.

Michael was a beloved son, brother, husband, and father and was kind to everyone he met! He loved Mary Gibbs so very much and didn't want to leave her even for his own health. He will be tremendously missed!

He is preceded in death by his parents, Rosie C. Arrowood and Virgil E. Arrowood. He is survived by the love of his life of 30 years, Mary Gibbs; son, Allen Arrowood; two stepchildren, Trudy Gibbs Kennedy and Larry Gibbs; sister, Suzanne Arrowood Stewart (who says that he was always her hero); and many step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved his family.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00pm on Friday, February 24, 2023, in the chapel at Thomas L. King Funeral Home, 124 Davis Road, Martinez, GA 30907, immediately followed by burial with military honors at Bellevue Memorial Gardens, 4501 Wrightsboro Road, Grovetown, GA 30813. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to service time.
