Obituary

Melvin Eacho passed from his earthly life to his place in Heaven on March 22, 2026 at the age of 72 years old. He was born on December 7, 1953, in Richmond, Va.

He is preceded in death by his father Harold W. Eacho and a brother Wayne W. Eacho. He is survived by his mother Bertha L. Eacho, and brothers Michael L. Eacho (Margie), Richard W. Eacho (Dawna), and Clyde J. Eacho, sons Toby Eacho (Yvonne) and Jody Eacho, seven grandchildren, and two great grandchildren, special friend Candace Abston, and many nieces nephews, aunts, and cousins. Melvin grew up in Hanover County Va. and attended Lee Davis High School. As an adult he moved from Virginia to Tennessee, Georgia, South Carolina, and back to Virginia for the last five years of his life. Melvin worked as a surveyor and in construction before starting his own company operating excavation equipment doing business in four states. Melvin loved to hunt and fish and grow vegetables in his garden. Melvin endeavored to continue these pursuits as he battled the effects of Parkinson's diagnosed in 2017. Melvin attended Vibrant Church at 202 West Main Street South Hill, VA 23970 where a memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM April 25, 2026, followed by a reception in the fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Michael J. Fox foundation for Parkinson's research. Special thanks to Toby, Yvonne, and Heather Eacho for care giving the last few months along with other family and friends who filled in when needed.
