Melissa Lynn Castle Mitchell, 45, engaged to Will Nesbitt entered into rest Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at Doctors Hospital.

Melissa was well known for her big, contagious smile. If you didn't know her by her name you would definitely know her by her smile. She would stand out in any room with her smile and her love for life. Melissa graduated from Harlem High School in 1997. Shortly after graduation she joined the restaurant industry and found that's where her heart belonged. Melissa spent many years at Red Lobster, Chop House and then leaving her heart at Cracker Barrel. Melissa started her family at the age of 21 and had her first daughter Morgan and then Maddie and then Kenzie. Melissa enjoyed anything outdoors; whether it was watering her plants, relaxing at the lake and fishing in any body of water she could find. Most of all, she loved the beach and searching for shark teeth. She loved to be surrounded by people, she loved to work, but mostly she adored and loved her three girls and her grandchildren. To know her was to love her.

Melissa, daughter of the late Floyd Castle and the late Carrie Lynne Castle. Melissa lost her mom Carrie at a very young age when Melissa was only a month old.

She is survived by her fiance Will; her mom, Jeannie Pye Willcox (Jon); her children, Morgan Mitchell (Anthony), Madison Mitchell and Mi'kenzie Mitchell; her grandchildren, Grayson Inglett, Emersyn White, Hudson White, Maverick Bryant; her sisters, Katie Jeter (Damien), Annie Underwood (Brandon); her brothers Dale Castle (Melissa), Jared Lee Castle, Casey Castle (Dwana), special nieces and nephews, her coworkers at Cracker Barrel, and many, many dear friends.

That smile of hers will forever be etched in the hearts of everybody.

Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, February 12, 2025. The visitation will be held from 2:00-3:00 with the service starting at 3:00 at Thomas L. King Funeral Home with Pastor Cliff Nobles officiating.
