Obituary

Evans, GA - Entered into her eternal home on Saturday, January 4, 2025, Mrs. Melanie Ann Butz, 57, loving wife of Mr. Jim Butz and daughter of Oliver and Barbara Bredbenner.

Beyond being a devoted wife, beloved mother, doting grandmother, and fierce friend, Melanie was a walking miracle. Having battled multiple bouts of cancer spanning 40 years, she beat the odds and shocked the doctors again and again, even in her final days. Melanie was known first and foremost by her deep faith and extraordinary boldness for her Lord Jesus. From Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, to Atlanta and Augusta, Georgia she left trails of light everywhere she went. In recent years, Melanie dedicated herself to supporting her family, stepping into spiritual leadership, and creating extraordinary art that will forever be cherished by those who love her.

Melanie loved deeply and will be desperately missed by all who knew her. In the pain of her parting we remember the scripture she was always quick to share: that we cast all our anxiety on the Lord for He cares for us. Melanie is survived by her husband, her three children, Connor, Ryan, and Maddie and their spouses, Elizabeth, Katie, and AJ, her most beloved grandson, Henry, and her five siblings, Jeff, Greg, Michelle, Melissa, and Keith.

A celebration of life will be held at 3:30pm on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at Stevens Creek Church, 600 Stevens Creek Road, Martinez, GA.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, the Butz Family requests donations are made to the Cancer Support Services in Melanie's name.
