AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Maude Frances Crawford, 92, entered into rest on January 15, 2015 at home with her family by her side. Mrs. Crawford was a native of Augusta and the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Dunbar Boyd, Sr. Before her retirement, she thoroughly enjoyed her work at Oak Grove Baptist Church Day Care Center. Her favorite activities were gardening and spending time with her many grandchildren. She and her husband John traveled extensively and spent many years in Germany and Austria during his 37 years of service in the U.S. Army. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 19, 2015 at Bellevue Memorial Chapel with Reverend Dewain French officiating. Interment will follow in Bellevue Memorial Gardens. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, John Pitman Crawford, Sr., as well as brothers George Dunbar, Jr., Joseph Boyd, Robert A. Boyd, Ralph Boyd, and James E. Boyd; sisters, Laura Lee Blackstone, and Marybell Creech; and son, James Patrick Crawford. Survivors include brother, Reverend Richard Boyd of Augusta; two daughters, Maude Frances Lopaz of Philadelphia, PA, and Priscilla Titus (Jonathan) of Fredonia, NY; brother, John P. Crawford (Elaine) of Augusta, William R. Crawford (Tawn) of Olympia, WA; grandchildren, Linda Lopaz, Thomas Lopaz, John Lopaz, Francis Lopaz, John Pitman Crawford III, Christopher Crawford, Shelby Crawford Sheldon, Daniel Stanford, and Eric Stanford, Kathryn Ann Hawk, and James Patrick Crawford, Jr.; and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. The family is grateful to Medical Services of America Hospice, especially Alisha and Kathy. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to the Wounded Warrior Project, 1190 Interstate Pkwy., Augusta, Ga. 30909 in memory of Maude Frances Crawford.
