Mrs. Marlene Chance Johnson, 86, of Augusta, passed away on October 5, 2024.

Marlene was a native of Sardis but lived in Augusta for a longtime. She worked many years as the on-call operator for the doctors at Doctors Hospital. She loved visiting Panama City Beach and sewing. She and her husband were members of The Augusta Boating Club which they enjoyed every summer. She was a wonderful friend, aunt, mother, and an amazing grandmother. She lived a full, beautiful life, and will forever be missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Lessi Chance; her husband, Billy Johnson; her daughter, Vicky Ellis; and her brother, Gary Brinson.

Survivors include her daughter, Terri Mattox; her granddaughter, Nikki Morgan; and her great grandchildren, Ashlee Fields, Jessica Fields, Victoria Morgan, and Wallace Morgan.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, October 10, 2024 at Sardis Cemetery in Sardis Ga with Chris Dickert officiating.
