EVANS, Ga. - Entered into rest at University Hospital on September 10, 2014, Mrs. Margaret Stewart, wife of the late Lonnie O. Stewart. Mrs. Stewart was born in Richmond County and lived here all of her life. She was retired from the Doctors Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Louie O. and Beatrice Carter Lowe. She was preceded in death by a brother, Earl Lowe, sister, Viola Stewart. Survivors include 2 sons, Lonnie Jr. Stewart and wife Joyce, Allen Shorty Stewart and wife, Pam; 4 daughters, Nettie Quarles and husband Richard, Laverne Stewart, Ann Smith and husband Bobby, Audrey Sherrod and husband Donald; 3 brothers, Felton Lowe, Harvey Lowe and Charlie Lowe; 1 sister, Lucille Newman; 18 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. Visitation will be at the funeral home tonight between the hours of 6 and 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Oak Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Maddox, Rev. Tony Henderson, and Rev. Jerry Wilson officiating. Interment will be in Bellevue Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Stewart will lie in state at the church 1 hour prior to service. Pallbearers are Jeff Stewart, Robert Smith, Ben Stewart, Jimmy Creech, David Biggs, and Jimmy Edwards. Honorary Pallbearers will be grandsons. Thomas L. King Funeral Home.
