Marcellus Claudius Verdery Jr., 67, entered into rest on September 5, 2022 at his home in Clarks Hill, South Carolina.

He is predeceased by his parents, Marcellus Claudius Sr. and Jane Reese Verdery. He is survived by his three children, Melissa Nicole Verdery, Hammond Chance Verdery, and Pearre Savannah Verdery; his brother, Mattison Reese Verdery (Susan); two sisters, Claudia V. Benjamin (Tom) and Leslie V. Johnson (Roy); his two nieces, Sarah E. Verdery and Stephanie E. Verdery; and his two grandchildren, Elijah A. Milford and Logan R. Hargrove. He is also survived by many loving cousins and a multitude of lifelong loving and caring friends.

A memorial service is planned for a later date.
