Mrs. Lucy Zimmerman, 93, wife of the late Francis E. Zimmerman, of Grovetown, entered into rest on June 16, 2024.

Mrs. Zimmerman, a native of Newfoundland, had been a resident of Grovetown for many years. She was a Girl Guide in Newfoundland. Lucy was very involved with the Girl Scouts of America where she was a lifetime member, and even started the Grovetown troop of the Girl Scouts in 1973. She was also involved in the Boy Scouts of America. She enjoyed being outdoors, telling stories and knitting. Baking was another activity Mrs. Lucy delighted in with some of her specialties being her cherry sugar cookies, and her fruitcakes. In addition to her involvement with Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts, Mrs. Lucy was further committed to serving her community through her volunteer work at The Fisher House Ft. Eisenhower (formerly Ft. Gordon) and with the City of Grovetown's 4th of July Bar-B-Que. She loved all of her family and will be deeply missed.

Survivors include her children, David Zimmerman (Brenda) and Jennifer Zimmerman-Noonan (Bob); 2 sisters, Alma Jeffs and Barbara Hoskins; 7 grandchildren, Jennifer Long, Haley Inghilleri, Stephanie King (Brandon), Kenneth Zimmerman (Miranda), Andrew Zimmerman, Lauren Noonan, and Angela Noonan; and 10 great grandchildren

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 22, 2024 at 1:00 pm in the chapel of Thomas L. King Funeral Home, 124 Davis Rd. Martinez, GA 30907 with Rev. Dewain French officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 2700 Deans Bridge Rd. Augusta GA 30906. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
