Lubomir Stefek passed away on Friday November 9, 2018. He was born in Czech and moved to New York at a young age. He joined the army and travelled extensively during his 22 years of service - including tours in Germany, Washington state, Hawaii and Georgia. He had a long life doing many things he was proud of, including serving our country, graduating from NCO school with top honors, and meeting and marrying his wife Brunhilde (deceased) during the first of his 3 tours in Germany. He was also very proud of his two daughters Debby (Ronnie) Herron and Tina (Jeff) Henson who he loved very much. He enjoyed being outdoors whether it was walking in the woods, or on a mountain in Germany, or spending time at Clarks Hill with his family. He was a handy man and could fix or build anything, but his passion was woodworking. He created many beautiful things including benches, swings, rocking chairs, wishing wells and bird houses. He gave away most of his beautiful creations, he built them because he loved it. Lou, as he was known to his friends, had a great sense of humor, loved animals, and loved hanging out with the Southside Old Farts Gang laughing, and drinking coffee at the Huddle House. In memory of Lou, the family asks that friends perform a act of kindness for one of our veterans or by donating to an animal in need at That's What Friends Are For. A private service with full military honors will be held at a later date. Thomas L. King Funeral Home and Cremation Service 124 Davis Rd Martinez, GA 30907 706-863-6747 www. Kingfh.com
