Retired Dupont MCCORMICK, S.C. - Entered into rest on May 5, 2015, Mr. Lowell Hibbard, husband of Kathleen B. Hibbard of McCormick, S.C. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Thomas L. King Chapel with Rev. Dewain French officiating. Additional survivors include 3 sons: Steve Hibbard, San Francisco, Ca., Phillip Hibbard, Augusta, Ga., and Hugh Hibbard, North Augusta, S.C.; one daughter, Susan King, North Augusta, S.C.; two stepdaughters, Sharon Sloan, Elgin, S.C. and Katherine Inglett, Augusta, Ga.; two brothers, Donald Hibbard, Camden, Va. and Glen Hibbard, Union, S.C.; one sister, Gladys Faye Hensley, Louisville, Ky.; 15 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. Mr. Hibbard was a Captain in the U.S. Navy; he did 3 tours in Vietnam, where he received a Bronze Star. He was a graduate of NC State. He worked for Dupont, where he served as project manager. He was a member of the Pinnacle Club in Augusta, Ga., Savannah Lakes C.C. in McCormick, S.C., and Dupont C.C. in Wilmington, De. He was Presbyterian. Mr. Hibbard was an avid golfer and enjoyed designing and building golf clubs. He also enjoyed driving his pontoon boat at the lake.
