Linda M. Baker, 76, Grovetown, GA, passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2024.
Linda was born on October 4, 1948, in Sidney, Nebraska, to parents Clarence Donald "Don" Johnson and Joyce Louise (Williams) Johnson. Linda grew up in Olathe, Kansas. She later moved to Florida where she enjoyed the beach, camping, homemaking, pets, and raising her daughter. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, daughter, granddaughter, niece, and friend. She loved crafting, decorating, flower arranging, baking, exercising, sunbathing, collecting antiques, reading, social media, watching Hallmark, and spending time with family and friends. She also enjoyed spending time outdoors, tending to her houseplants, attending Bible study, knitting with a church group, sweets, and coffee. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a tender heart for animals and people in need.
She excelled at clerical work, bookkeeping, and tax preparation. She recently retired from United Way, where she enjoyed helping others. She was loyal, loving, kind, and extremely hardworking. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her two brothers, Michael "Mike" and David "Chip" Johnson. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Angela "Angie" and Jesse "Jess" Ferguson (Evans, GA), a brother and sister-in-law, Sean and Tabby Teufler and their children and grandchildren (Olathe, KS), a sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Larry Moore and their children and grandchildren (Urbana, MO), two grandsons and their wives, Trevor and Elena Ferguson (Codroipo, Italy) and Brandon and Joy Ferguson (Grovetown, GA), a niece, Shae Kirkman (Pilot Grove, MO), and a sister-in-law, Cathy Johnson.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Mosaic Church, 478 Columbia Industrial Blvd, Evans GA 30809, with Pastor Carolyn Moore officiating. The family will receive friends at the church for visitation from 10:30am until service time. She will be cremated according to her wishes.
