Bondurant
MARTINEZ, Ga. - Mr. Larry P. Bondurant 78, of Martinez, Georgia (formally of Galesburg, IL and Livingston, MT), passed into our Lord's arms on the 17th of July at Eisenhower Medical Center. He was born in Hoquiam, Washington, August 7, 1937. He grew up on a farm in Missouri and later Laurel, Montana, where he joined the U.S. Navy at age 17. He fought during the Korean and Viet Nam wars reaching the rank of Chief. He served on the USS Lansing, USS Tillamook, USS Hancock, USS Forester, USS Mount Katmai, USS Rehoboth, USS Sproston, USS Bryce Canyon and USS Proteus. He retired in 1974 and went to work for the Burlington Santa Fe Railway in Montana. Later he was transferred to Galesburg, Illinois and retired after 25 years. In 2013 he moved to Martinez, Georgia to reside with his sister and her husband, Teresia and James White. He is survived by three brothers, Keith, Roy, and Frank, and one sister Rumina Teresia (White); his five children, Deborah Ann Bartlette, Larry Kit, Charles, Taffy and Seth, twelve grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded by his parents Rumina and Victor, a brother Oscar and a sister Margaret (Knott). Funeral services will be held 4:00 p.m., Wednesday July 20th at Thomas L.
