L. Doug Poole Jr, 64, entered into rest on January 12, 2023. He is now in the embrace of our Lord Jesus' comforting arms.

Doug was born in Valdosta, GA, as the son of Jeanette Parkman and the late Larry Douglas Poole Sr. He worked downtown at Johnson Motor company for over 40 years. He enjoyed spending his time with his dog Mr. Buddy as well as reading many books. He was an avid angler with Neal Scott, David Poole, and the late Albert Moody. He caught and tied the Georgia State yellow perch record on the Savannah River back in 2008. He was a devout Christian and attended Parksville Baptist, Damascus Baptist, and lastly Warren Road Baptist Church. He was a loving father/grandfather and will be missed by many that got to truly know his loving heart.

Doug is survived by his son, David (Larissa) Poole of Liberty, SC; grandson, Mason Poole of Liberty, SC; mother, Jeanette Parkman of Augusta, GA; sister, Donna (Neal) Scott of Augusta, GA; and brother, Jon Cary (Kendra) Poole of Topeka, KS. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and nieces.

At his request there will be no funeral services and a private family memorial will be held at a later date.
