Kenneth "Kenny" Payton, 62, of Augusta, passed away on July 10, 2025.

Kenny was a lifelong resident of Augusta. Kenny worked for Waffle House on Belair Rd. for over 30 years and was quick to tell you he was a grill master not a cook. Kenny enjoyed riding his bike, all types of music but KISS being one his many favorites, and collecting rare coins. He was also an avid GA Bulldog Fan (GO DAWGS!!). Family was his biggest love of all especially his grandchildren. Kenny will be missed by all that knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Susie Payton, and his brothers, David and Max Payton.

Survivors include his daughter, Susan Payton; his step sons, Adam Kosakowski, Justin Hale, and Andrew Hale; his siblings, Virgil Payton (Melissa), Anna Laura Kitchens (Larry), and Charlotte Doolittle (Richard); and his grandchildren Layne and River Mance.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 20, 2025 at 3:00 PM in the Thomas L. King Funeral Home Chapel with Steven Phillips officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 prior to the service at the funeral home.
