Obituary

Kathy Sue Ketcham, born on July 4, 1956, passed peacefully in her sleep on January 23, 2026, after a long and courageous battle. She faced her journey with strength, resilience, and grace, surrounded by the love of those who meant the most to her.

Kathy was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She is survived by her son, Kris Kuball, his wife Lyn, and their children Liam, Noelle, and Raegan; her son, Matthew Clendenning; and her daughter, Megan Bartasis, her husband Jimmy, and their children Mila and Colin. She is also survived by her sister, Debbie Durren, and Debbie’s longtime partner, Dale; her brother Jeff Ketcham and his wife Sheri; and her brother Eddie Ketcham.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ed Ketcham; her mother, Betty Nernberg; her sister, Lori Price; and her brother, David Ketcham.

Kathy’s greatest joy in life was her family—especially her children and grandchildren. They meant the world to her, and she meant the world to them. She cherished time spent together, creating memories filled with laughter, love, and stories that somehow became more entertaining and exaggerated with every telling.

A gifted and passionate culinary artist, Kathy built an impressive career in food and hospitality. She worked as a professional chef at Sixth at Watkins Restaurant in Augusta, Georgia, and CK Catering in St. Joseph, Michigan. She also served as Director of Catering for the Sheraton Augusta, the Partridge Inn in Augusta, and Centerplate at the University of Notre Dame. In addition, she proudly owned and operated her own catering company in Augusta for a time. Cooking, entertaining, and bringing people together around a table were not just her profession, but her calling.

Outside the kitchen, Kathy was a loyal fan of Michigan athletics, a gracious hostess, and someone who found true happiness in gathering friends and family together. Her warmth, humor, and larger-than-life storytelling will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

A Graveside Service and Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Coloma, Michigan.

Kathy leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and shared meals—one that will continue to live on through the many lives she touched.
