Kathleen M. Harris, 79, of Evans, GA, and a retired nurse passed away on Friday February 14, 2025.
She was born in Mt. Holly, NJ to the late Paul and Lillian McManus and moved to Aiken, SC when she was young. She is proceeded in death by her late husband, James A. Harris and her son, James A. (Chip) Harris, II.
She graduated from St. Angela Academy in 1964 and went to nursing school. After she graduated, she worked as an OB Nurse at the Old Aiken County Hospital. She continued at St. Joseph's Hospital in the Nursery and ended her career at Doctor's Hospital.
Beyond her professional life, Kate embraced her passions with enthusiasm. Her love for dogs was boundless, and she cherished the companionship of her furry friends throughout her life. She was a true fashionista, with a keen eye for style and an innate ability to put together the perfect outfit. Kate always looked her best, exuding confidence and grace.
Family was the cornerstone of Kate's life. She treasured family dinners and get togethers, creating warm and inviting gatherings filled with delicious food and cherished memories. Her culinary skills were exceptional, and she poured her heart and soul into every meal.
Kate enjoyed the camaraderie of friends and the thrill of a good game of canasta. Her competitive spirit was matched only by her "Sparky" wit. She also had a knack for finding hidden treasures at thrift stores, proving that style doesn't have to break the bank.
Kate's vibrant spirit and zest for life will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness and unforgettable moments. Her rendition of "Proud Mary" was always a highlight, and it's impossible to hear the song without thinking of her infectious joy and enthusiasm.
Kathleen is survived by her daughter, J. Erin Harris, granddaughter, Emilee E. Harris, son, Roman Howerton (Ashley), grandsons, Andrew Justice (Ashley) and Bradley Allen (Nicole) and granddaughter, Heather Morris (Joey). Great Grandchildren, Savannah and CJ Justice, Peyton, Riley and Norma Allen, and Declan Dowell. Daughter in Law, Christy Randall.
Nieces and nephews, she shared a special bond with Christy Fulcher (Robbie), Kelly Harris, Eric Harris, Shawn Harris and Molly Padgett Boyleston.
She will be deeply missed by her large close-knit family and a wide circle of friends.
Memorial Services are still being planned.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her name to the Dog and Cat Networking Agents.
