Entered eternal rest surrounded by love

Obituary

Karen Yvonne Murray‑Richardson was a woman of creativity, compassion, strength, and deep faith. She lived a life marked by service, love, and dedication to her family, her community, and her church.

Karen pursued her education with determination, attending Frostburg State University and Strayer College, where she strengthened the skills that supported her long and successful career. She earned a degree in Accounting and Business Management and rose to become an Assistant Store Manager through her hard work and leadership.

Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to become co‑owner of Closet Space alongside her husband, Samuel Richardson, a business they built with shared vision and pride. She later served as Office Manager at Abell Counseling and continued her administrative excellence at Sentinel Offender Services in Augusta.

Karen expressed her creativity through sewing and crochet, crafting pieces filled with warmth and love. She nurtured life through her plants and garden and enjoyed crossword puzzles, solitaire, and spades — quiet moments that reflected her sharp mind and gentle spirit.

Her faith was central to her life. She served faithfully in the Clown Ministry, the Housekeeping Ministry, and the Nursing Home Visitation Ministry, bringing joy, comfort, and companionship to those in need.

Her Legacy

In every role — at home, at work, in ministry, and in the community — Karen gave more than she took. She lifted others, encouraged them, and made life brighter for everyone she touched.

She lived with purpose. She loved deeply. She served faithfully.

Her legacy of kindness, creativity, and strength will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

“Karen had a smile that stayed with you and gave great hugs — and I’ll miss that most.”

To our sister. Karen your angel wings were prepared to soon for us as you were called home. Although it hurts our heart we realize we had to let you go. As we grew older the time we shared was few but meaningful. We are not saying good-bye because we will meet again until then. We love you Karen
