MARTINEZ, Ga. - Mr. Julian "Jay" Ready, 80, entered into rest Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Doctors Hospital. Mr. Ready was a native of Augusta, had served in the U.S. Army, and was a member of First Baptist Church of Evans. He enjoyed working in the yard and was an avid fan of Georgia Bulldawg football and enjoyed discussing the game with his friends. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 9, 2016, at the cemetery of First Baptist Church of Evans with Reverend Phillip Hedgecloth officiating. Family members include a longtime companion, Mary Ready; three stepdaughters, Katherine Smallwood (Dr. Clayton) of Columbia, SC, Anita Jones of Denver, CO, and Karel Blair (Jim) of Hopkinsville, KY; one niece, Linda King of North Augusta, S.C.; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
