Josephine A. Washburn passed peacefully on September 3 at home surrounded by family.

Joann was born and raised in Massachusetts and settled in the Augusta area in the 1970s. She married the love of her life, Terrell, on August 12, 1978.

After a career in community mental health, Joann started USC-Aiken at 46 years of age to become a registered nurse. She worked in Neuro ICU until her retirement in 2005. After retirement, she was proud to be a hospice nurse, providing relief to other nurses by traveling to other areas.

In addition to her loving husband, Terrell, Joann is survived by children Patrick (Beth), Cathy, Michael, and Daniel Meagher; Nancy Greer; fifteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Joann is predeceased by her parents, Jo and Go Vosgerchien; granddaughter, Erin Meagher Tucker, and son, Greg Meagher.

Join us for a Celebration of Life at King Funeral Home on Thursday, September 11, 2025 at 6:00 PM. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 6:00 prior to the service at the funeral home. Come as you are - blue jeans, work clothes, scrubs, or your favorite color in Joann's honor. It's what she would want!
