JOSEPH MELL THOMAS, 89, entered into rest November 4, 2026. 

He was born in Augusta, Georgia at University Hospital, to the late Henry Clarence Thomas and the late Sarah Elizabeth Stokely Thomas. He served proudly in the US Army was retired from his Grading and Landscaping Business. 

He is preceded in death by his brother, James Kendall Thomas. Survivors include his daughters, Robin Thomas Tracy, Sarah Thomas Harrover (David), and sister, Mary Ann Thomas Gilliam; four grandchildren, Joseph Michael Tracy, Jonathan Charles Tracy, Margaret Amelia Halicek (Martin), Abigail Elizabeth Kalish (Joshua) and three great grandchildren, Maximillian Halicek, Vincent Halicek and Nina Halicek. 

The family would like to thank his caregivers at The Georgia War Veterans Nursing Home in Augusta, Georgia. A private service will be held at a later date.
