Mr. Joseph Franklin Lee, 63, of Appling, entered into rest on January 26, 2024.

Jody was the fourth of five children and only son of Joe and Mable Lee. He is survived by his beloved cats Prudence and Eclipse, his sisters, Peggy Pittman (Ricky), Becky Clark (John), Patsy Mclendon (Warren) and Virginia Lee (John Kirk). Also surviving are his nieces and nephews, Evan Pittman, Joshua Broyles, Dustin Clark, Alexandria Mclendon and Annabelle Lee as well as a large extended family.

Jody was a fantastic and generous gift giver as his nieces and nephews can attest to. He was a lifelong lover of cats and the Clemson Tigers. He enjoyed watching The History Channel and The Braves in addition to listening to vinyl records. He loved Clarks Hill Lake and fishing. We found handwritten directions to his favorite fishing holes with descriptions like "boring drive, no scenery" and "bumpy road."

If anyone is so inclined, donate a few dollars to a cat rescue in his name or go cast a line and think of him.

A time of visitation with the family will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2024 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Thomas L. King Funeral Home, 124 Davis Rd., Martinez GA 30907.
