John Joseph Holden, age 70, of Martinez Georgia-passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at Augusta University Medical Center after a battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia with his family by his side. John was born in Mobile, Alabama. He retired from the US Army in 1989 after 20 years of service including tours to Vietnam and Korea. John enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves and playing golf at Pointe South with Don, Artie, and Claude every week. Most of all he loved and cherished his two grandsons Steven and Hunter. Mr. Holden is survived by his son Tom Holden (Sherra); grandsons Steven Holden (Jordan "Babe") and Hunter Holden; sisters Mary King (George), Miriam Waite Burgett (Dave), Debbie Hughes (Steve), Patty Hatton Dodd (Ronnie), and Donna Chinnis; brothers Ben Hatton (Christine), Bill Hatton, Taylor Waite (Colette), and Leland Waite (Jane).
