John Edgeworth Clarke Jr, former Richmond County Commissioner and Augusta Press Writer, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2025.

John was preceded in death by his parents John Edgeworth Clarke Sr. and Margie Clara Clarke; and his wife of 52 years Neisha Azalee Clarke.

He is survived by his children, Margie Lee Farr (Kevin) and John Edgeworth Clarke III "Tres"; his 3 grandchildren, Tiffany Lee Youmans (Wes), Brittany Michelle Allen (Jose), and Thomas Bradley Sheridan (Savannah); his 5 beautiful great grandchildren that he adored, and his companion Debbie Grigg.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, February 3, 2025 in the Thomas L. King Funeral Home Chapel with Darryl Engle officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family kindly requests donations be made to any animal charity, as John was an avid animal lover.
