On Sunday, June 6, 2021, John Gilbert Agers, 85, passed from the loving arms of his wife, Sybil, into the arms of our loving God.

John was a kind and gracious man who was always willing to help. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.

John was born January 29, 1936 in Stonefort, IL. To the late John and Nell Agers. He was raised in Herrin IL.

John was a veteran, having proudly served in the United States Army. He retired from United Technologies Corporation in 1994.

John was a member of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his brother Joseph, Thomas and brother-in-law Barney Glaser.

He is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Sybil Foster Agers, stepdaughters Mandy Sparks (Dwayne and Maddie) and Camille Hutto (Mark, Cole, and Sara).

Also survived by his sister Gloria Glaser, brother James Agers and sister-in-law Dee Agers. Thomas L. King Funeral Home and Cremation Service
