Jo Nell Shirey Crouch, 92, of Augusta, entered into rest on August 19, 2024.

Jo Nell was originally from Winfield AL but lived in Augusta for many years. She retired as an assignment clerk from BellSouth. She enjoyed working in her yard, gardening, dancing and was a fashionista. She liked to watch old western movies and old country music videos. Jo Nell was known for her great sense of humor. She also could sew by hand. One of her proudest accomplishments was a dress that Jo Nell and her mother sewed by hand for her daughter Julie that is currently on display at the Augusta Museum of History.  She loved all of her family and will be deeply missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Lorene Shirey; her siblings, C.B. Shirey, Flora Carter, Bruce Shirey, Lou Hubert, Mary White, and Jimmy Shirey; her son in laws, Johnny Mosley and Phillip McConnell; and her great granddaughter, Hadley McConnell.

Survivors include her daughters, Julie Mosley, Janet McConnell, and Jennifer Cliett (Ricky); 7 grandchildren, Felisha, Phillip, Amanda, Corey, Brittany, Cameron and Johnathan; and 14 great grandchildren.

Memorial services to celebrate her life will be held at 6:30 PM Tuesday, August 27, 2024 , in the Thomas L. King Funeral Home Chapel with Steven Hughes officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 6:00 PM prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers the family kindly requests donations be made to the Firefighters Association, or to a Charity of your choice.
