Entered into rest on June 1,2017 Mrs. Jewel P. Pierce wife of the late Dr. Harold H. Pierce. Mrs. Pierce was 94 years of age. Mrs. Pierce a native of Mobile Ala. held graduate degrees from the University of Ill. and worked in the field of Education for many years. She and her husband became residents of Augusta in 1975, she was a member Augusta's First Baptist Church and was a Sunday School teacher. Mrs. Pierce is survived by her son- Dr. Larry H. Pierce of Martinez Ga. 1- grandson- Bradley(Meredith) Pierce of Gainesville Ga. 1- grandaughter-Katherine(Alex) Vandergrift of Mt. Pleasant SC. And 5- Great Grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her brother-Henry Pylate Jr and her grandaughter Kimberly Ann Pierce. A private service will be held at a later date there will be no visitation.
