It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Jay Beecy Godfrey on Tuesday, June 18, 2024. Jay's spirited life touched many, leaving behind a legacy of friendship, adventure, and an unwavering love for his country.

Mr. Godfrey is preceded in death by his mother, Maude Willis Godfrey; father, Jay B. Godfrey Jr.; grandmother, Irene McCraw Godfrey; grandfather, Jay Beecy Godfrey; and companion, Betty Reese.

He is survived by his cousin, Harold Wood; and dear friends, Jeff Barrett, Lewis Kolb, and Kenneth Atterton. Jay was a man of many passions, known for his patriotic fervor and his love for the great outdoors. He found joy in fishing, cherished days spent on the golf course, and embraced life with a vitality that was truly remarkable.

Jay's profound love for the Lord guided his every step, and we find solace in knowing he is now rejoicing with the angels in heaven, embraced in his perfect, eternal form in the presence of the Almighty.

Jay's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him, reminding us all to live fully and love deeply.
