Obituary

Janet Elizabeth O'Neal, a beloved mother and devoted homemaker, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2026. Born on February 20, 1935, in Herndon, West Virginia, Janet lived a life marked by selflessness, giving nature, and boundless love for her family. Her unwavering devotion and positivity, even through the most challenging times, served as the heart and backbone that held her family together.

Throughout her life, Janet found joy in nurturing her garden and tending to her flowers, a passion that reflected the care and attention she gave to those around her. Her gentle spirit and loving nature left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

Janet was predeceased by her parents, Shelvie Lusk and Vercie McKinney Lusk; her husband, Luther Edward O'Neal; her children, Donna Sue Dew, Deborah Ann Corbin, and Dianna Lynn Burnham; and her siblings. She is survived by her cherished children, Linda Sexton and William "Bill" O'Neal, along with several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many extended family members who will carry forward her legacy of love, strength, and kindness.

Family, friends, and loved ones are invited to honor Janet's memory at the Thomas L. King Funeral Home and Cremation Services, located at 124 Davis Road, Martinez, GA 30907. Visitation will be held on March 30, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The funeral service will follow on March 31, 2026, beginning at 3:00 PM. A visitation and graveside service in West Virginia will be announced.

Janet Elizabeth O'Neal's life was a testament to love, resilience, and dedication. Janet was the embodiment of love. She exhibited that love in everything she did including her husband, her children, grandchildren, her garden, her flowers and her care of wild birds. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit will forever remain alive in the hearts of those she so lovingly cared for.
