APPLING, Ga. - Entered into rest on August 12, 2013, Mr. James C. Tiller, husband of Agnes C. Tiller of Appling. Mr. Tiller was born in Beech Island, S.C. to the late Parsons and Hattie I. Tiller. He was retired owner of Creative Marble Co. He served in the United States Army. He lived all of his life in this area. He was a Board Member of the Columbia County Game and Fish Club. He was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Joanne Jackson Tiller. Survivors: 1 son, Jimmy Tiller and wife Cathy; 1 daughter, Martha Garner and husband Fred; 1 grandchild, Marlee Garner; 4 step grandchildren, Bailey Bessman, Ryan Graham, Andy Garner, Michael Garner; 3 step great grandchildren; his best friends, Barbara and Neal Johnson; special care giver, Joanie Gant. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Jerry Jones officiating in the First Baptist Church of Evans Cemetery. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home tonight between the hours of 6 and 8 p.m. Pallbearers: Bill Jackson, Walter Massengale, Hilton Reese, Robbie Roberson, Don Strength, Bennie Oellerich.
