James Polk Roton passed away October 10, 2024 at Doctors Hospital, Augusta, GA.

James was born December 5, 1934 in Graniteville, SC, to Juanita D. Roton and Roy L. Roton. James worked all over the world from 1955 on as an Instrument Technician and Supervisor.  And he sometimes worked as a chef on cruise ships.

He loved his children and grandchildren.  He was fun loving and feisty at the same time.  He was a life-long fan of the Atlanta Braves, and loved watching them play.  He spent as much time as he could fishing and boating at the brick ponds in Augusta, and at Clarks Hill Lake.

James outlived his mom and dad, his brothers John H. (Butch) and David, his son Mark Roton, and his daughter Frances Roton.

He is survived by his sister, JuJuan (JJ) R. Tucker (Craig); his daughter, Patty Ann Kerkhoff (Jeff); his son, Matthew Roton; and his granddaughter, Keira Roton.

He had many nieces, nephews and grandchildren, but was especially close to Keira.

Memorial Services will be held Saturday, October 19, 2024 at The Sanctuary, 4584 Cox Rd. Evans GA, at 4:00 PM with Rev. Bryan Cockrell officiating. Florists please deliver flowers to the church.
