James Larry Kitchens Sr.

Mr. James Larry Kitchens Sr., 78, of Evans, passed away on August 16, 2026.

Larry was a lifelong resident of Augusta and retired from Monsanto as a Chemical operator. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting and working in his yard. He was a “Mr. Fix It” who could fix almost anything. Larry was a family man through and through and he was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great grandfather who will be deeply missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Leroy Kitchens Sr and Gaynell Kitchens; his brother, Bobby Kitchens; his grandson, Hunter Kitchens; and his great grandson, Bentley.

Survivors include his wife, Anna Laura Kitchens; his children, James Larry Kitchens Jr. “Jimmy” (Teresa), and Linda Mickley (Ed); his brother, Leroy Kitchens Jr.; his grandchildren, Macie Raborn (Clayton), Mindie Wright (Jacob), John Moxley (Hannah), and Lauren Harbin (Dykes); his great grandchildren, Beckum, Sophia, Bertrum, Ward, and George; sister in law, Charlotte Dooltittle; brother in law, Virgil Payton (Melissa); and his grand dog- Remy.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Thomas L. King Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Ronnie Faircloth officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family kindly requests donations be made to Abeline Baptist Church.
